No to Me. Yes to God.

No to Me. Yes to God.

Throughout scripture, we are given insight into unique “weapons” that enhance the lives of God’s people. Chief among these tools are fasting and prayer. Fasting is so important in scripture that it is mentioned more than baptism! Even more, there are countless examples where a time of fasting preceded a time of exceptional involvement from God in the lives of His people. Moses fasted before receiving the 10 Commandments. Daniel fasted before surviving the lion’s den. Ester fasted before seeing the entire Jewish races saved from extinction. Ezra fasted to see the vulnerable Israelite exiles make a safe journey back to Jerusalem. Hannah fasted to see God open her barren womb. In the days of Joel fasting turned a rouge nation’s heart back to God. Jesus fasted before beginning His public ministry. Paul fasted before he began his new christian ministry. In this message, Pastor Tolbert reveals fasting as an opportunity for God’s people to invoke HIs presence in a special way.
